AI for SMEs

An inspiring trip to Silicon Valley

AI Deep Dive on the West Coast

Last week, our Commercial Director had the great opportunity to take part in a 5-day deep dive trip to Silicon Valley.

As part of the specialist seminar “Artificial Intelligence – RLP goes Silicon Valley” in San Francisco, organized by the AHK USA – San Francisco and supported by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture and the IHK Koblenz, he was able to take a look behind the scenes of state-of-the-art AI innovations together with 11 other company representatives from Rhineland-Palatinate.

The group visited companies and institutions such as Autodesk, Amazon Web Services (AWS), NVIDIA, ZEISS Group, Deutsche Telekom Global Business, GOLDBECK, Sigma AI, Silicon Foundry, Bay Area Council, Stanford University HAI, SAP, Centrum AI and University of California, Berkeley.

There, participants were able to experience how real-time image processing, autonomous 3D printing robots, digital twins and AI agents automate knowledge work.

The participants also presented themselves and potentially AI-capable projects from their own companies as part of case studies.

The most important insight for Drache: our production data is a valuable raw material for us. Shared and used with appropriate start-ups, we can generate applications from it that will turn our working methods and processes upside down. Drache has now got an initial idea of this, and now we need to keep at it and drive forward digitalization with AI and integrate it into our processes. Because only then will AI deliver real added value for us.
