Compact, multifunctional design

The Drache Filter-Combibox combines degassing, metal temperature control and filtration by a CFF in one compact box design. The Filter-Combibox is primarily suitable for casting lines with low flow rates combined with long-running campaigns (e.g. strip casting or wire casting), requiring as little interference with the process as possible. In casting breaks, the Aluminum can be kept liquid inside the box. The filter combi box is also suitable for mold casting applications where a continuous supply of liquid aluminum to the casting station is required.

Special features
The Drache filter combibox is an efficient and compact metal treatment system that combines degassing, temperature control and filtration in one box. The purging unit with graphite rotor provides efficient degassing and cleaning of the molten aluminum. Immersion heaters keep the metal liquid in the box during casting breaks. The metal temperature can also be regulated during casting. A space-saving vertical ceramic foam filter removes impurities and calms the metal flow out of the box. The Drache filter combi box is primarily suitable for casting systems with low casting speeds and where long casting times without interruptions are required, such as belt or wire casting systems. It is also suitable for mold casting applications where a continuous supply of liquid aluminum to the casting station is required.

  • Two chamber design: degassing chamber and combined filtration / temperature control chamber
  • Flushing device with robust steel housing incl. heavy-duty lifting chain for attaching to forklift truck or crane
  • Gas dosing unit, rotor can be changed during operation
  • Rotor with argon or nitrogen for degassing and as support gas
  • Ceramic Foam Filter: 1x 23“ U-Filter
  • Refractory material: Drache Fused Silica
  • SiC partition wall for efficient heat exchange between the chambers
  • Metal temperature control via immersion heaters
  • Immersion heaters: power 11 – 12 kW, customized solutions are possible
  • Vertical ceramic foam filter (U-filter), filter change possible during casting
  • Optional filter lifting system
  • Control of all units via an electrical cabinet
  • Easy access to all areas of the box thanks to individually removable lids
  • All units can be removed individually or together with the cover
  • Additional flap in the degasser cover for scraping and cleaning the degasser chamber and rotor
  • Included in the scope of delivery: associated gas dosing unit and electrical cabinet
