DBN Drache Boron Nitride

DBN – Drache Boron Nitride – was developed by Drache and is produced in-house at Drache’s own manufacturing facility. It is a coating primarily used for aluminium casthouse applications.

The coating is manufactured on modern equipment assuring an excellent and consistent quality. It is available in three different types, which differ in their boron nitride content.

The coating can be used either directly or needs to be diluted prior to use, depending on the type.

Special characteristics

  • Non-wettability: Excellent non-wettability and chemical resistance to all aluminium alloys
  • Efficient separation: Even very thin DBN coating layers with a thickness of 100 microns only give excellent efficiency
  • Different types: Available as DBN 25 i, DBN 15 i and DBN 10 i RTU
  • Colouring: Each type can be provided in three different colours upon request. Only organic, non-toxic coloring agents are used.

Characteristics

DBN Drache Bornitrid DBN 25i

DBN 25i

Concentrated version with a Boron Nitride content of 25%. Must be diluted with water prior to use. DBN 25i is the most commonly used grade. Also available with “Anti-Freeze” frost protection additive on request.

DBN 15i

Less concentrated grade with a Boron Nitride content of 15%. Should be diluted with water prior to use.

DBN 10i RTU

“Ready to use” grade of DBN. Pre-diluted coating which is ready to use.
