Leading international trade fair for the ceramics industry
Valuable insights gathered
In March, five Drache employees from Development, Sales and Technical Management attended ceramitec in Munich. The trade fair, which takes place every two years, is the leading international event for the ceramics industry and is one of the most important global platforms for ceramics, technical ceramics, powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing and related technologies.
The ceramics industry is comparatively small and strongly networked – almost like a family. Despite its leading role, ceramitec therefore creates an atmosphere that resembles a large industry get-together: companies, universities, technical suppliers and partners come together, and warm reunions followed by intensive and constructive technical discussions develop at many stands.
Our employees took the opportunity to talk to raw material manufacturers about alternative materials, coordinate specifications and discuss current developments. This resulted in some promising new options for Drache. In addition, furnace manufacturers were visited and information on modern exhaust gas purification systems was obtained. Last but not least, it was shown that a driving simulator can certainly attract attention as an eye-catcher – and is also fun.
analytica, the world’s leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis and biotechnology, took place at the same time as ceramitec. Due to the large crowds, however, no further insights were initially gained there.
Conclusion: The visit broadened our horizons and provided valuable new ideas that will now be incorporated into our work and future projects.
