Fully customized systems
We offer a wide range of equipment for aluminium foundries. This includes filter boxes and channel systems for aluminium continuous casting, as well as transport crucibles for aluminium die casting foundries. The replacement of deep-bed filters and degassers is part of our all-inclusive service package. We also cover the complete range of plant engineering services. We are at your side from the initial conceptual design and creation of 3D drawings through to installation and commissioning on site.

Drache manufactures a wide range of equipment for aluminium foundries. This includes filter boxes and channel systems for aluminium continuous casting as well as transport crucibles for aluminium die casting foundries.
Our systems are used by customers worldwide, for example EGA, AMAG, Trimet, Constellium France, Hindalco, Novelis Germany and China, ADL USA, Novelis Brasil.
Fully customized systems
Our filter box systems are used in aluminium extrusion and continuous aluminium casting. We are at your side with our expertise throughout the entire process, from the initial design to complete in-house engineering and manufacturing to installation, commissioning and operator training. One feature of our filter box systems is their easy handling of use and robustness. They are also characterised by low heat loss in combination with a low housing temperature. We offer filter boxes with resistance heating, gas heating devices and electric heating systems. These are used to preheat the foam ceramic filter. In addition, our filter box systems are designed according to a modular concept. This means that the filter box body, lid (with lid stand), preheating device and base are independent of each other. This allows, for example, a quick exchange between two castings. Our filter boxes are available in standard sizes of 7’‘, 9’’, 12’‘, 15’’, 17‘’, 20’’, 23’‘ and 26’’. In general, all filter boxes are manufactured according to our customers’ individual requirements, which means that special designs are also possible.

Full-Service Engineering
We supply launder systems for aluminium DC casting as a complete package. This includes selecting a suitable channel cross-section, complete engineering, manufacturing, including production, and, if desired, on-site installation.
All our channel systems are optimised for minimal heat loss, low housing temperature and homogeneous metal flow. On request, the channels can also be equipped with covers and preheating systems. With our channel covers with electric resistance heating, the channel system can be preheated before casting. This minimises heat loss during pouring.
Our wide range of channel segments includes small segments for continuous casting, segments for billet and slab casting, and large segments for transfer channels. The choice of channel cross-section is based on the casting speed of the plant. With proper care and maintenance, our gutter segments offer excellent service life combined with minimised maintenance costs and excellent cost-effectiveness.

DEEP BED FILTERS, DEGASSING INSERTS, CASTING TRAYS AND TRANSPORT TRAYS
In addition to ‘standard components’ such as filter boxes, channels, pouring nozzles and hot-top rings, we also manufacture large components for applications in aluminium casting. These include liners for deep bed filters, degassing inserts, casting troughs and transport crucibles. All components are cast, dried and fired in one piece in our production facility. This means they can be delivered ready for use. With our ‘all-inclusive’ service package, delivery is made either to Drache itself or directly to the foundry. Bei einer Neuzustellung setzen wir neben unseren eigenen bewährten Bauteilen auch hocheffiziente Isoliermaterialien ein. These minimise heat loss from degassers, deep-bed filters and transport crucibles.
