On May 17, 2023, the photovoltaic system on Hall 1 was successfully put into operation. Having already commissioned a photovoltaic system on our Hall 2 in May 2022, we have now also carried out the installation work on our Hall 1.
Due to the sheer size of the facility, extensive work on the hall roof and changes to the electrical distribution system were necessary. Thanks to the team at Otto & Zirner GmbH for the smooth execution.
The system has a total output of 306.28 kWp and consists of 806 PV modules with a nominal output of 380 W each.
With this investment, we are making an important contribution to a sustainable energy supply and to reducing COâ‚‚ emissions. The solar energy generated is primarily used to cover our own requirements and helps to reduce energy costs and increase the energy efficiency of our site.
Addendum: In 2024, the combined output of the PV systems on Hall 1 and Hall 2 covered just over a fifth of Drache Umwelttechnik GmbH’s electricity requirements. Overall, we used 61% of the solar energy generated ourselves, while 39% of the electricity generated was fed into the grid. We are thus setting a strong example for climate protection and resource conservation.
