Numerous components made of Drache calcium silicate (DKS 200) are used in aluminium continuous casting and DC casting. DKS200 is particularly suitable for transition and header plates.

DKS Drache Calcium Silicate key facts

Parts made of DKS are successfully used, for example as transition plates for Wagstaff billet casting tables, mould rings for Hycast casting tables and mould plates for Hertwich horizontal casting machines.

Special characteristics

  • Boron nitride: Additional boron nitride coating is available as an option
  • DKS200: DKS 200 is reinforced with carbon fibre
  • Monalite M1 A: we also manufacture calcium silicate components from Monalite M1A for components such as bulkhead panels
  • Max. application temperature: 1000 °C
  • Service temperature: 850 °C
