Our ceramic product family
The word mark “Cerapor” was introduced back in 2007 – a name that today stands for the core products of Drache Umwelttechnik GmbH. This brand encompasses high-quality ceramics, ceramized foams, and foam ceramics, particularly those used as filter materials for liquid metal filtration and for applications in high-temperature environments. Cerapor products are also used in air and water filtration and in gas adsorption. In addition to ceramic materials, the brand also includes control and regulation devices as well as sensors for adsorption and filter systems. Filter systems, especially those with foam ceramics for the adsorption of gases and the particles and chemical substances they contain, also bear the Cerapor name. The Cerapor brand – spelled “Cerapor” and “CERAPOR” – is internationally protected.
Our core product
In 2009, the core product of Drache Umwelttechnik GmbH was given its own name: Ceralu. This brand name is used for aluminum oxide foam ceramic filters, which have been indispensable in aluminum continuous casting and continuous casting of aluminum alloys for over three decades. They are used for the efficient filtration and purification of aluminum and stand for the highest quality.
Ceralu Al2O3 filters are manufactured using a certified, quality-tested production process. They impress with their versatility—from different filter sizes to special chemical resistances—and are used in non-ferrous foundries worldwide.

Cerazirk stands for foam ceramic filters made of zirconium oxide—a high-performance ceramic known for its exceptional hardness, chemical resistance, and extreme heat resistance. Drache’s Cerazirk ZrO2 filters can withstand temperatures of up to 1700°C and are indispensable in steel casting, superalloy casting, and large-scale iron casting.
They are suitable for all types of steel alloys as well as nickel and cobalt-based alloys. Thanks to their high chemical resistance, they can even be used in magnesium casting. Like all Drache products, Cerazirk ZrO2 filters meet the highest quality standards. The Cerazirk word mark is protected.
Family member
Cerasic stands for ceramic materials – in particular foam ceramic filters – made of silicon carbide. This material impresses with its extreme hardness and high melting point. Drache’s Cerasic NG foam ceramic filters are temperature-resistant up to 1500°C and are mainly used in iron casting.
They are suitable for castings with small and medium unit weights, both in machine moulding and hand moulding. They are also used in the moulding of copper alloys and in aluminium smelting. Like all Drache products, Cerasic NG filters meet the highest quality standards. The Cerasic word mark is protected.
