Exciting insights into the world of materials

This year’s Girls’ & Boys’ Day was all about materials. After a brief introduction in the morning, the participants started directly with an introduction to the material aluminum: Where does it occur in everyday life? How is it produced? What requirements does it have to meet? And what role does Drache play in this context?

The company then introduced itself. During an initial tour of the production facility, the young people were able to experience at first hand how our filter products are made.

The tour finally led to our laboratory, where the composition of the materials used was clearly explained.

The pupils then got to work themselves: they were allowed to mix their own recipe and impregnate prepared foam bodies with it. Their workpieces were then fired in the kiln.

During the drying time, we moved on to Hall 2, our plant construction area. There, the participants were able to take a close look at filter boxes, a control cabinet and various casting molds, among other things. It was also possible to take a look at the design office.

There was also plenty of food and drink on offer: a pizza lunch provided a relaxed opportunity to chat with our employees.

Girls’ & Boys’ Day was once again a complete success this year. It offered the young people exciting insights into a professional world that was previously unknown to many and impressively demonstrated the wide range of opportunities in materials and production technology.
